THE SPEAKERS:

Professor John Hartnett – Building the Digital Prison 

John Gideon Hartnett is an Australian physicist and cosmologist, and a Christian with a biblical creationist worldview. He has a B.Sc. (Hons) and Ph.D. (with distinction) in Physics from the University of Western Australia. Between May 2013 and May 2016, he was an Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Outstanding Researcher Award (DORA) fellow at the University of Adelaide where he was a research Associate Professor, now retired. He has published more than 200 papers in academic scientific journals, book chapters and conference proceedings.

Richard Lue – Living in the Digital Prison 

Richard Lue is an IT specialist and former resident of Communist China (PRC). He has a Master’s degree in engineering specialising in Information Technology. Since 2011 Richard has been a pro-democracy activist in China (PRC). He signed the 08 Charter by Xiaobo Liu and after 2012 he has worked in the New Citizens Movement and the CDM movement in China. In 2019 Richard established the Western Australian Association for Pan-Asian Democracy, which works for improving human rights for Tibetans, Hong Kongers, Uyghurs, Taiwanese, and Chinese.
