Brazilian Academy of Philosophy Awards Professor Zimmermann with ‘Order of Merit of Brazilian Thought’

We are delighted to announce that our WALTA President, Professor Augusto Zimmermann, has been chosen to be awarded with the highly prestigious ‘Order of Merit of Brazilian Thought’ by the Brazilian Academy of Philosophy.

“Being you a Brazilian who, with great competence, contribute to our better understanding of the world, in a serious and profound way, I have decided to make you two invitations, which, if accepted, would give great honour to the Brazilian Academy of Philosophy and, by extension, to our country: first, to become a corresponding member of the Brazilian Academy of Philosophy; second, that of accepting the Antônio Paim Medal, Order of Merit of Brazilian Thought, a decoration created after the death of one of our greatest philosophers. I think it’s a way for Brazil to recognise your intellectual greatness.”

– Professor Edgard Leite, President of the Brazilian Academy of Philosophy
